4.2.0
  • dynamIt now implements the latest version of the FCK editor, version 2.6.3. There are many bug fixes and improvments on this version of FCK, for more details click here.
  • dynamIt can now be setup to run HTML Tidy upon saving your page. This keeps all of the HTML code generated by the editor clean and well-formed. Hopefully, it will ensure that we are outputting valid XHTML 1.0.
  • Bug fix: improperly size thumbnails in Photo Gallery plugin.
  • Editor setup with a base href keeping all paths document relative. This allows for the moving of pages and the migration of servers without the need to relink images and files.
  • Additional field for per-page META managament. Now, with dynamIt you can have a more descriptive, SEO-friendly title that differs from the page name.
  • Direct folder linking is now available, create a hyperlink to link to a dynamIt directory rather than a specific page. Only available for site with URL rewriting enabled.

  • New dynamIt plug-in developed: Code Snippets. This is mostly for us to use as it involves writing PHP scripts and placing them on a dynamIt page. However, it adds to the overall flexibility of dynamIt by allowing the client to include custom programmed functions within a dynamIt Page.
  • dynamIt Media Embed plug-in was revamped. Now, instead of dropping <object> tags in the page the audio/video is represented by an image making for easier media management.
  • Additional settings on Photo Gallery and Media Embed plug-ins allowing for the resizing of these objects dynamically. By default proportions are constrained.
  • Bug fix: preview button now available after adding a dynamIt page.
  • Bug fix: adding more than one news feed no longer results in a JavaScript error.
  • Bug fix: Files uploaded now properly store their size and type.
  • Meta Tag management on the page level. Attach keywords and descriptions to each page individually.
  • Link pages: dynamIt Pages no longer just display content. Now, they can act as links and automatically redirect the user to any URL.
  • Page custom fields added to the pages database. This allows the users to store custom data within dynamIt pages. This data can be used on the front-end in a myriad of applications.

  • Clean URLs are now available for new dynamIt sites. No more long, ugly URLs. If enabled for your account, /index.php?id=23 becomes /about-us/.
  • dynamIt News Post updated to write valid RSS for syndication. Ask about feed publishing.

  • Photo gallery item reordering: items within an existing dynamIt photo gallery can be reorder easily using drag-n-drop.
  • Page design flexibility added: dynamIt 4.0 allows for sites to take on multiple design shells, additional flexibility was added to this feature.
  • dynamIt editor toolbar redefined: the toolbar in the dynamIt editor was reworked to include and exclude certain function. The goal of this update is to encourage better looking front-end results.
  • Ability to show and hide the 'My Account' tab was added as a site setting. This imrpoves dynamIt's ability to whitelabel the CMS.
  • Site manager preview function: dynamIt has a preview icon in the site manger (placed to the right of 'Copy Page'). This function will open up a new window to load the given page for instant preview.
  • Flash file manager Firefox bug fix: the flash file manager would not load for newly created directories. This bug has been fixed.
  • Site manager special character bug fix: upon creating page or folder in the site manager the use certain special characters triggered a JavaScript error. This bug has been fixed.
  • Copy page bug fix: copying a page would leave the page design field blank resulting in a broken page on the front end. This bug has been fixed.
  • News feed item bug fix: Editing a news feed item would cause the reorder icons to disappear. This bug has been fixed.
  • Authenticate files pane bug fix: After being closed once the authenticate files pane would not reload. This bug has been fixed.

  • Multiple upload file manager: dynamIt file manager uses Flash ActionSctipt technology to allow for multiple files to be uploaded simultaneously with a meter depicting upload progress accurately.
  • News feed item reordering: items within an existing dynamIt new feed can be reordered easily.
  • SteveIt tool added to the dynamIt editor: easily generate horizontal rules on the fly in any color, or drop in common used snippets of code quickly and easily.
  • Mac PowerPC bug fix: Non-intel based Mac were seeing rendering issues inside dynamIt this bug was exterminated.
  • Dialog focus on submit: after submitting a simple dialog form focus is placed on the 'Ok' button allowing the user to hit the 'Enter' key to remove the confirmation dialog.

4.0.0 Release
dynamIt version 4.0.0 includes a complete overhaul of the dynamIt system. The previous version of dynamIt and broken down and rebuilt from the ground up with a focus on efficiency and ease of use.
